So I'm looking to replace my 2000 9-3 SE fuel pump (preventative maintenance).
Since all the performance guys are using the Walbro 255, Bosch 044, Denso Supra or other high-flow fuel pumps with no fitment issues, I figured I would try something else - a plain old modern Denso insert. The Densos are known to be super reliable and power almost every Honda Accord on earth, so I figured it would be worth a try to prevent having to worry about the stock Walbro again.
But which Denso? There's like a thousand different models. So I found a Walbro that had similar specs (pressure, flow rate) to the Saab pump, found the cross-reference Denso pump, and ordered that.
So I get home tonight to my new Denso pump waiting at my door step. I hurriedly open the package and take out the inner box that says Denso all over it. I open up the box, take out the pump insert and I'm holding in my hands...a Walbro pump.
Dammit. At least it didn't cost more than the Walbro-branded one.
