I had a cylinder 1 misfire (turned out to be the DIC). However in trying to road side diagnose it, (my wife had the that day so I meet her with my tools) when I pulled the plugs out to check them I put them back in a different order & that "cleared" up the misfire, for a time... at least long enough to get the car to Autozone to have the codes read and get a new to me DIC (yes the mis-fire came back, moved plugs around and it cleared up... so I swapped cylinder 1 plug with another each morning and drove the car as little as possible).

So I am "guessing" the DIC wasn't completely dead, and swapping the plugs moved a slightly gunked up one to a good cylinder and a clean one to a I wound up swapping the
