Waterpump to Block Oring Issues

Well I have had my 1998 900SE turbo for 10 years this May. In this time I have experienced the failure of the single water pump to block oring about every 2-3 years. They just start weeping when the car is cold. Every time I have went to change the o-ring I have found a slight crusting of antifreeze dried trail in the inspection hole of the pump so I change it also. I have used OEM orings, aftermarket pump included orings (Hepu, AC/Delco and now installed a Bosch Saturday). I have never replaced a pump on the car because it was leaking on the ground because the single oring at the block beat it to failure. The block opening is very clean each time I change them and I have tried everything from white vaseline to lube them to install to Hylomar and still have the 2-3 year failure rate. I have absolutely no leakage for the first 2-3 years so the install went fine, they just do not last. Has anyone experienced this and if so do you have a resolution(oversized oring, sealant etc). I would really like to wear out my fist water pump the old fashion way with it starting to visibly leak and not just a crusty dried up trail that makes me change it each time. Other than this I love the car and I can afford the labor to change the pump and orings each 2-3 years but I was hoping that someone has a fix. Thank you.
