First time poster, and new Saab owner, so please forgive me if my problem has an obvious solution!
2002 9-3 SE Conv't - 100K
Here's my issue: I took my car in for 100K service a week or so ago. After I got it back it was doing two things. 1) rough idle; and 2) seemed to be using more turbo then it used to.
With regard to Issue #2 - in the past, when using normal acceleration, the turbo gauge needle would typically go halfway up in the green and provide strong acceleration, now it borders on yellow. If I give the car decent acceleration, the needle jumps way up in the yellow, whereas before it almost never went to the high end of the yellow/borderline red unless I was almost flooring. Also, during idle, on a cold engine the turbo needle sits halfway in the green, I don't ever recall it doing this before, maybe 1/4 of the way into the green if the heat was on during a cold engine idle.
I took the car back to the shop and they quickly fixed issue #1, turned out to be a check valve they bumped and cracked while performing the maintenance. Replaced it, idle problem fixed.
BUT, the turbo issue remains.
Any ideas?
