Cable from alternator to starter

Hello Everyone!
My car: SAAB 900 V6 1995 manual 144k.
It seems like cable from alternator to starter has melted a bit (at least rubber did).

I wonder if it is routed correctly and what I should do to prevent it from happening in the future. By the way my alternator shows only 12.95 volt. So before I replace alternator I want to fix all cables.
Also does anybody know how to route other cable that go by the starter, they are also very close to exhaust and might melt?

Recently oil pressured sensor was resealed and some oil pan and transmission work was done, so I think cable routing might had changed.
Finally, I wonder if it is okay to put jack in front of the car in lift it. Here is a spot?

Thank you for your attention.
Regards,
Alex
