The major advantage of selling it to a dealer / trading it in, is you put separation between you & the ultimate buyer. Sounds like there is nothing majorly wrong with the car, like a known engine or transmission or steering or braking issue, just some annoyances, some of which are relatively easily fixed, (or lived with for a 11 year old car with 100K+ miles).
I once had a car that I needed top dollar for (had been laid off in one of the tech down turns, was getting ready to go back to grad school, & needed to pay off the remainder of the note on the car) that also had a mechanical issues, so I had a buddy whose family owns car dealerships run it through the auction for me... now that is separation.
