shocks/strusts question- 01 9-3 SE 97K

Brought car in for oil change today....was told that shocks and struts are showing signs of rust.have only driven 15K miles since they awre last replaced in June 2010.am thinking of going back to shop to have them attend to it......also, was told tranny fluid is burnt and transmission service was done last March,.....should I use a bottle of Lucas Transfix before trying anything else?.......thx
