To me the stalling when going into gear is a classic vacuum leak. Start with checking the basics... plugs, clean the TB, clean the AIC, & condition of vacuum hoses & EVAP purge valve & the line to it (clamp that line off to test). If that fails & nothing obvious, just replace the vacuum hoses (inexpensive & easy DIY) & retest the EVAP purge valve & line.
