I live in a very small depressed town in the Smoky Mountains where 45% of the household incomes are less than $35,000 with the median being only $25,000 and only 35% have a high school education! Unemployment is extremely high with only one manufacturing company. The town survives off of government grants and a lot of the people receive low income assistance and disability. Because it basically is nothing but backwoods mountain hillbillies who fix their own cars or have a new ones every few years labor costs are extremely low. The other repairs I've had done here on this Saab include replacing a leaking "oil sending unit" that only cost $75 (parts & labor)and new linkage in the automatic gear shift and a new wheel bearing which cost a total of $500 (parts and labor). I feel fortunate that I'm getting such a good deal and the real beauty of it all is that when you know everybody you know who you can trust! Hope this helps explain things! Take care . . .
