I guess it missed the start of this conversation in a previous posting..what happened to turbo? My 02 Vig and 02 SE both have almost 200K now but zero engine issues. I have done PCV updates, only syn. every 5K since day one, premium gas and changed out MAF sensors to the latest part number. Just had pan off last week since I had to put a clutch in and bottom end still looks like new, zero sludge (but some pieces of rubber from old PCV hoses) I pulled my turbo oil feed banjo bolt just to check the feed holes for any blockage and all looked good. Seems in my experience the TD-04 does not fail unless there is another problem such as oil starvation, dirt from intake, or something that let go in the engine and passed through it? Just curious?
I can only imagine there is an issue with a sealing washer (bottom one fell out of place, cracked?) The only time I have had an issue is letting to lower one fall out when I did the water pump line! Its a reach, but perhaps you cracked the line at the joint where it goes from tubing to the banjo opening? Its hard to see of course, but just some thoughts? Good luck.
