You should be able to drill or carve out the hole for the second bulb. I imagine it's just like the European corner lights and their missing side-assist backup bulb. The socket is there, it's just molded over on the surface with a layer of plastic. If you could find a Forstner bit the right size, you could probably drill a very nice flat-bottomed hole. You just have to watch it and make sure that you stop when you're through the surface part and start to see the bits of plastic that hold the socket.
