2000 Viggen
My car ended up down a hill and in the woods in a state park. It is going to be getting a new front bumper, fog lights and side skirts at a minimum...
So after getting it out of the woods I was able to figure out a few things.
1. Reverse was gone and when my wife went to back up it went forward instead. How is that possible?
2. All the gears are really loose and spongy to the point I could not find
third, fourth or fifth gear. I could take the shifter and just wiggle it around in the there. Never have seen that before.
3. I put the car into first gear and started to go and it kept power but started slipping like the clutch would disengage the whole way. So I figured there was a hydraulic failure of some kind?
4. The brakes are gone. I had to stand on the pedal and use the emergency brake to hold the car. The brakes are about 1.5 years old along with the rotors. Well over half pad life left. Booster issue?
The dealership will be looking into this because it is the reason the car went into the woods and got damaged. I'll be on the hook for all the mechanic repairs plus $500 deductible for the body damage and work (cheap from my point of view considering.)
So what could I be looking at here? I was thinking transmission but with the brakes being gone along with the clutch not coming out I don't believe that is the problem. Thanks for any help you can give.
