Since I do not have a lift....only a hoist and jacks, and trying to plan ahead.

Would anyone consider taking off the subframe,then removing the engine instead of dropping them together as originally planned? My concern is that the subframe will rest on the hoist legs, making it more difficult to slide the engine off to the side while the body is raised.

by removing the frame first, i can drop the engine between the legs of the hoist. This seems to make sense, let me know if I am missing any important issue. ( and this is assuming I can get the center bolts loose tonight...)
