Hello, another possible explanation would be the brake hose being torn inside creating a flap that does not allow the caliper to relax. See if you can push the piston back in on the new caliper and free up the wheel. If you can't try opening the bleeder to push it back in if it goes in that way I would start with a hose even though a abs hydraulic unit could do the same.
