For me it would be easy to check since I can turn on the oil light with the Tech 2 scanner but for you it might be easier trying to find the single wire behind starter that goes to the switch and ground that wire and see if the light turns on.
It is still kind of a hassle trying to find and tap into that wire but that's the best I can say.
The oil pressure switch usually goes bad in that it start to leak oil on the B205/235 engines but less that it stops turning on the dash light.
On the older B204/234 engines it was very common for it to fail in not turning on the light but less common that it started to leak.
So they improved one thing and created a new problem. Go figure.
