The popping associated with turning makes me think of a CV joint. I've had them go bad on my 9000, but at much higher mileage. Another possibility is a wheel bearing. You might try having someone drive the car in circles around you while standing in an otherwise quiet parking lot. Then stand on the outside of the circle to hear the wheels on the outermost side of the turn.
