Many Viggens reflect the car's original capability Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Mon, 18 Aug 2014 16:20:32 In Reply to: Re: Classic 900 owner about to make leap to a 9-3. My Viggen was initially owned by American Sunroof Company who used it as a display/exhibit car for three years. It was then sold to a succession of two ASC Managers who used it for summer fun drives.
At nearly 15 years of age it still has under 70K miles and I haven't found evidence or suspicion that it was raced or beaten on by the previous owners. Unfortunately, that appears to have happened often to these cars and is probably happening at an even greater rate now that the prices have dipped to under $5K.
Just read the postings of recent Viggen buyers on other forums. Yikes! Owners barely old enough to have a license, and too many have no idea of how a car operates. All they know (and want to know) is that a Viggen is very fast, very inexpensive, and turbocharged.
