'01 9-3 SE, 132K miles. I had the same thing. Seemed I could get it to change with accelerating and coasting. If you're fairly handy, this isn't a terribly difficult, or expensive job. Probably less than $200 in parts. I rebuilt both side axles with new GKN tripod bearings, and then cleaned and repacked the outers with new boots. I found my passenger tripod bearing's grease was water-logged (milky and thin). No rips in the boot, but looks like water got in there. I did not replace the intermediate drive shaft that goes into the transmission on the passenger side.
This fixed the problem for me. I also had a little "thump" when the boost came on hard. That was the transmission mount (driver's side, not the rear mount)
Whatever you do, DO NOT get SurTrak axles. I was short on time, and parts were going to take a few days. It lasted 1,000 miles (probably less). The bearing was completely shot, and the outer side CV joint was loose. Get GKN (Saab OEM) tripod bearings, and just clean and repack the outers. Also, if you don't have a proper ball joint separator, and just use a pickle fork, you'll need to replace the ball joint boots.
