Hello,
I think if something bent it is more likely to be the strut housing that the strut assembly screws into. I have seen this many times. You can check pretty easy by measuring between the inside of the tire and the strut housing. The measurement should be about the same on the left and the right. If it is closer or further noticably the housing is bent. I often just place my fingertips in there and make sure they go in about as far on each side.
