2002 Viggen, disconnected OnStar, "TELEPHONE" message

I bought a used 2002 9-3 Viggen Coupe and I noticed that a prior owner had installed an aftermarket Bluetooth device which had its microphone dangling from the driver's door side of the headliner. When I picked up the car, the radio worked fine.
After I dropped the car off for rear brake work, a tune-up and replacement of the DI cassette, the SID showed "TELEPHONE" and I hear a voice that says to turn the volume up or down to change the language.
No matter what I did, the message wouldn't go away. Then I realized that the radio would work if I turned it on before I turned on the ignition until I put the car in Drive.
So I searched the internet and found out that I should disconnect the OnStar. I just did that with two different plugs. I drove it around and the radio worked until about 10 minutes later that stupid TELEPHONE message came back.
Now, the radio will stay on even if I shift into Drive and then after 10 seconds the stupid TELEPHONE message comes back.
Please help. I think I have to completely disconnect the Bluetooth equipment but how?
Thanks in Advance,
Atul
