This is the O-ring that seals the stiff plastic inlet pipe delivering boosted air from the intercooler to the throttle body. These O-rings are inexpensive and easy to change. A suddenly failing O-ring will result in the inlet pipe blowing off and then the car will barely move enogh to get it to the shoulder. Been there - done that - downtown Detroit at rush hour.
