99 LB Viggen 3 Door, 150k. God knows how this thing is not storing any codes...ECU has been reprogrammed by someone privately to the equivalent of Stage 4. On the highway all of a sudden it just cuts power. This does not seem to happen at any RPM range lower than 2000. I took a video of the tach with my foot fixed on the accelerator trying to hold steady at 2500rpm and the needle raises and dives on its own between 2200-2700.
This problem has been gradually getting worse until now where highway driving is impossible. (I do alot of around town driving so I been able to keep the revs lower).
Can anyone take a stab at this? Like I said, there are no stored codes. I checked vacuum lines for air leaks and everything appears to be in good shape. New DIC. Throttle body and MAP sensor cleaned. Has anyone else experienced these issues? I'm thinking its the throttle body. I don't have a tech II to figure this out.
Car is also difficult to start from a cold start. Have to run the starter for a several seconds, engine finally catches. Have to cycle the ignition again before engine slowly chugs to life. Smells like gas. I think this is a seperate problem. Fuel pressure is ok. This car has been alot of trouble for me but I want to keep it running. Never had a Saab with so many strange problems before. Thanks in advance for your help.
