Rattling noise, ac pulley? Safe to drive?

Hi,
2001 9-3 HOT
Just arrived at my hotel, away from home and my indy mechanic of choice :( Engine bay has a pretty loud metallic rattling noise that seems to be coming from pulley area. It isn't audible at highway speeds, but is there intermittently when idling or rolling around at ~0-30mph (i only noticed it when I stopped for gas ~20 minutes or so before arriving). Searching the board indicates AC pulley is likely the culprit. I don't have anything long enough to detension the belt and check the pullies but it does look like there is play in the lower front one. I am supposed to get rolling home tomorrow and already had an inspection scheduled for Monday with my mechanic. So...thoughts on this being safe to drive for a few hours before getting this taken care of?
Cheers.
