water pump, etc - Saabnet.com Bulletin Board
Just an updated thread on water pumps (for the search function if nothing else!).
Just did a water pump on my 2002 9-3.
I had the classic weeping 'only-wnen-winter-and'cold' gasket mated to the block.
The job went, amazingly, very smoothly, after I had gotten over the fact that it is deeply buried and is I was committed to the job, no backing out 2/3 of the way out.
The turbo coolant banjo:
opposite to the posts in the archive, my crush washers were not both crush washers, and were not different sizes either.
The outside washer was a crush washer, and the ones from eeuroparts was correctly sized.
the inside washer was one of those gas-line washers, brass colored and with the rubber inside. (bought from eeuroparts too). I happened to have a fresh one.
a few weeks later, all is well.
