Hello,
It is very common for the "temperature switch on the conmpressor to fail so that power will not get to the clutch. It usually starts with failing in this manner. Do you have the switch still in line or did you bypass it? I usually checked this by jumping the relay when it is acting up. There are no other switches/ sensors in line between the relay and the temperature switch.
Also the low side on the gauge should never really be above ambient temperature. Good Luck, Bernie
