Unhappy with the headlights , i recently switched to Philips LED H4 bulbs
Installing them is tricky as they are supplied with a fairly large ballast I managed to tuck in around the bulb socket in the reflector housing.
Unfortunately I didn't initially manage to aim them correctly at first. The beam was somewhat spotty with a weird mix of ultra bright areas and darker spots, unlike the dimmer halogen H4.
Before returning the bulbs, I decided to find a mechanic with a headlight aiming device.
He readjusted the headlight housings based on his device, ignoring the markings (vertical and horizontal) on the housing.
The result with re-aimed LED H4 bulbs is exceptional: I'd guess it's 50% brighter in low beams and 20% brighter in high beams compared to the H4 high performance halogen bulbs I had before.
The light pattern is exactly the same as before, just a lot brighter and whiter. Very pleasant.
LED bulbs have come a long way but the light housing might need to be re-aimed after the swap.
