I used a small but robust piece of string to pull the gauge wiring through the grommet but it took a number of attempts. If you have access to a helper (I did not at the time), you should enlist their aid as it would be much easier for someone to pull on the engine side while the other person pushes from within the cabin.
Apologies for the bad lighting but my pod was custom made. I removed the A-pillar covering, stripped it down, molded in the gauge holders (fiberglass resin), and painted it a color that approximates the dash. In truth, this went through a number of iterations and I started with a donor A-pillar but I'm very pleased with how it turned out.
