1997 900s
have been doing 10-30 oil and filter changes every 3000-4000 miles.
Lately it seems I'm going thru more oil per thousand miles and there are no engine leaks i can find.
Could it be that my valve stem seals are "weepy" or could it be piston ring wear?? how can one tell which? I barely notice any exhaust tells but the exhaust tailpipes looks a bit blackened.
Can I pull the head and replace the stem seals without much ado???
Thanks in advance for any guidance
Jim
