I concur with the alarm comment. I had to pull mine out and send it off for repair/battery replacement. Remove OnStar completely. It will never work again (no more 3G service). It's behind the cover on the right side of the trunk (under the antenna). Unplug everything, grab a 10mm socket driver and yank everything out (2 boxes and support bracket). Leaving the now un-used cables there won't hurt anything.
BTW, you can just disconnect or remove the alarm to see if that's your problem, too. It's behind the fender liner of the LF wheel. Car won't care if it's gone.
