I think you'll find those accy 17" rims are 7" wide, whereas the 16" are 6.5". 225 is a bit too wide for 6.5" rims. Section width is the number to watch with tire sizing, although diameter is important, too. If you could find section width info for the Michelin Pilots, you'd be golden, just come within a few tenths of that number to avoid rubbing.

BTW, if you do find that number, I'd love to know what it is.

I was recently comparing the BFG g-force in 215/50/16 and the Toyo Proxes T1? in 205/50. IIRC, the BFG was about .3" wider and ~.3 narrower. Toyo and BFG list size info on their web sites.

People commonly use 205/50 and 205/55's, per what's reported here.
