Note cable locations on the distributor cap.
Remove cables (6 or 7 of them), cap?, shield? and rotor?. Wash with soap and water until totally clean. Rinse in hot water, shake and wipe dry. Bake for 1 hour in a 225F oven. Let cool, while still warm, use liberal amounts of Armour-all. Bake again till dry, cool, and wipe off excess.
When you reinstall cables, keep them from touching metal or each other to the extent possible. Clean the business end of the coil in place.
The rotor and cap will last the life of the vehicle in many cases.
No cables should not cost that much.
While thing are in the oven, you can check and or replace the plugs. I know it is a pain with a V6. If the front three look good, then the back ones should be ok.
Your Saab might have a triple coil instead of a distributor. Don't know.
