Am I being duped?

I recently took my just purchased 97 Saab 900 S into the dealership because all 4 tires had accelerated wear on the far inside portion of the rubber. I also was made aware of minor leaking in the rear shocks. The service manager said that Saab designs the cars so that there is an inward angling to the suspension and tires for handling and that this kind of wear is normal. Is there any truth to this? Thanks folks.
