At just under 37k miles, I installed a new cabin air filter. It's only about a 15-minute job (that, as usual, I turned into a 1/2-hour job!). The old one was unbelievably filthy. There weren't many leaves or other nasties around the filter, but the filter itself was pretty gross.

The filter is under the cowl over which the windshield wipers are fixed. Remove the wipers, and the cowl pretty much pops off once the two clips on each side are loosened. There is another miniature black shield underneath the main cowl. Once that's out of the way, the filter is fully exposed.

Not only is it $30 - $40 well spent, but you get a good look at the wiper motor while you're in there.
