Looking in list of High Mileage SAAB's, I found several 95/96 cars in range of 120-150,000 miles. And I have read posts regarding many more approaching 100k. So I would consider high mileage car at right price.
Re the automatic, our 95 9000 CDE has no evidence of transmission problems so far. My feeling (subjective) is that many of the auto transmission problems were resolved by the mid 90's.
Is the car a V6? Then you have some problems to consider - timing belt replacement every 30k (was it done in last 5-10k). Some people talk of oil leaks from valve cover gaskets.
In all early NG900's. Check the front suspension - any sign of movement especially at top mounting of struts (or have these mountings/bushes been upgraded)
