Dexron III..... Posted by REM in Seattle [Email] (#4) [Profile/Gallery] (more from REM in Seattle) on Thu, 9 Nov 2000 16:00:23 In Reply to: ATF, Nick [Profile/Gallery] , Thu, 9 Nov 2000 15:39:56 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My 1998 900SET owners manual says Dexron III. Most brands have an ATF that meets Dexron III requirements. It will say "meets Dexron III requirements" right on the label. Also note that the owners manual recommends ATF changes at 60,000 miles, UNLESS you drive in the city, in high heat environments, or at high speeds, then they recommend ATF changes every 20,000 miles.
Personally, I chose to use Mobil 1 synthetic ATF. It meets Dexron III requirements and has better cold flow and better high temperature qualities. And it is compatible with regular Dexron III ATF. so far, 35,000 miles on the Mobil 1 ATF and no worries.
