I love speed too and have let my Saabs run wild on the 300+ mile stretch of desert between L.A. and Vegas, but after being in a Viper being chased from above by a police copter I can say that in today's age your rolling the dice when you play Speedracer! When the copter above told us to pull over via his mic we debated for a few seconds thinking if we made it to the state line we'd be in the clear, but being good boys we pulled over and waited. A few minutes later two Highway patrolmen, one in a mustang the other a Ford Crown Victoria, came screetching up to us, had us up against the car yelling at the top of their lungs like we robbed a bank or something. Once their adrenaline was gone they told us that we passed them about 25 miles back and by the time they began their pursuit we were too far ahead. The Mustang said he was doing 135 and we were still pulling away. So they then called a copter for support which is why he tagged us. After we explained that we never saw them (true) and that we we're late for a wedding in Vegas (false) and since they did not want to take us back to the station some 150 miles away, my friend got a ticket for 85mph in a 75mph zone. They then told us to follow them to the next exit and wait for a while as some 7 patrol cars were waiting for us at the state line.

Hope I didn't blab too much, but that was one he-- of a day and I know how lucky I was not to be arrestted. The Viper, though, roared like a beast at high speeds while feeling tame inside...

Moral: streets are for commuting - tracks are for racing.

Saab on a dragstrip sounds ludicrous, but that's what the said about Bug's and Civic's before they started pulling <9 in the 1/4 mile!

Have fun and look up as well as behind:)
