That darn windshield noise --MORE

I thought I'd offer more information on this topic--since so many of you seem to be annoyed by this problem.
After the 4th trip back to the dealer--who started to call the glass contractor--who couldn't get it right the previous 3 times--I INSISTED that one of their master techs review it with me.
To Dean: The back edge of the windshield seal was found to be absolutely sealed up to the body. No variance in adhesion observed across the entire span across the top.
The tech used the 3M brand windshield sealant, and ran a tiny bead under the lower side of the plastic trim---across the top portion only of the windshield trim piece--stopping just prior to where the top molding corners protrude. If I am not clear here let me know.
Seems to have fixed it--although we had snow showers here yesterday and a 75 mph test drive was not the wisest move a driver could make. I barely got it to 75mph and had to back off.
To others: Thanks for the support and info. I really do like my dealer and its mechanics and have a great relationship with them---and I realize that this is a concept that some of you will never have to enjoy. Working through the problem WITH them in a nice manner has huge benefits---simply because the service writer cannot possibly convey all the detail to the mechanic on a 3 x 5 inch space.
Regards.
