I just had my michelin's remounted on my OEM wheels and at leaest two of them are clearly shot. in addition to tread wear they are louder and rougher then my arctic alpin's. i think one might have a twisted belt to boot. On top of that my dealer informs me i have two bent rims (kinda knew that- not my doing) and quotes me $1090 for two new rims and two michelin MXM's.
For like $1200-1400 i can get 4 new 17"ers with new rubber from tire rack delivered... hmm... we'll see
so my big question: Will 215/45 17's work with my '94 900SET with stock suspension. and/or will this affect my ability to add aftermerket (lowering)springs in the future? there aren't many options in the 205/45r17 size (and i'm not woried about the 2-3% spedo error)
i like the Bridgestone Potenza RE730's allot. Nice reviews and ratings at tirerack, and good wear, traction and comfort ratings and a good price. are there any other tires i should consider?
thanks
p.s. i suppose i could just get the RE730's in 205/50r16 form and put the bent rims in back.. but i like the sound of the 17's better.
