With your low miles, the fuel filter will not be an issue.
It sounds like things run ok most of the time, so basic maintenance items must be in reasonable shape.
The idle speed sounds right at well. The computer is controlling it. When the AC comes on, you feel the ECU providing more power to stablize the RPM's with the load imposed by the AC comrpessor, especially to start it up. So all of that sounds normal.
On many vehicles you can feel the fan start up, in conjuction with the AC sometimes, and the fans are often out of balance.
Plugs, yes make sure they are the proper plugs for the vehicle and they are properly gapped and in good condition.
I would not take the vehicle to a mechanic without first fitting new plugs.
Spark plug wires, rotors and caps can be a problem. Most problems are caused by dirt, old salt and water. These things are easily cleaned.
How long have you had the Saab?
I don't know that jumping off the line is characteristic of this engine. If the ECU is detecting a problem with knocking, then it might be detuning things. I think that you have a 10.5 compression ratio which is rather high. If your compustion chambers are full of deposits and you are not using higher octane fuels, that could be an issue. The Techron will clean the injectors and the combustion chamber. If the injectors were causing the problem, you should notice a change with the Techron in one or two days. I think that you should try the highest octane pump gas that you can get as well. If things improve significantly with the tankk with Techron, I suggest a second dose.
How is your engine air filter?
Would you be comfortable removing the resonate chamber over your throttle body to get access to he throttle body to clean it?
