Hi Chris,
The disk is most likely stuck in the reader mechanism. This is apparently a defect with the cartridge itself as mine does the same thing...but only on the disk #4 slot. All other slots function like they should. The only way I could fix the problem was to completely dissamble the whole unit.
This gave access to the side of the CD cartridge which allowed me to manually retract the CD back into the cartridge. It's not fun, and is a bit time consuming. Make sure you find out which slot the stuck CD is in...and never use it again!
