1997 900 SET
Here is the story my fiancée is sitting in a parking lot car running with the A/C on 90 degrees outside. When she hears some type of noise she thought someone ran into the back of her, but no. She looks forward and sees what she thought was steam/smoke coming from the engine, then the car sputters and the motor quits. So she pops the hood takes a look around every thing looks fine so she let the car cool down and restarts it, it runs fine so she drive 2 miles to the Saab mechanic we use. The diagnosis is the fan to cool the motor was not working when the A/C was on. The temperature in the engine compartment got to high and too much pressure was built up in the A/C system due to the heat/expansion it dumped the refrigerant to release the pressure. Is there a relief valve or would a part/hose have to break to lose the refrigerant? Does this sound right? Does the fan to cool the motor run constantly when the A/C is on? Thanks
