I don't think that I had any problems at all. But I posted the way I dealt with the challenges. What I did might seem fussy, but it was really the easy route, perhaps not the simplest or fastest. Actually the rear shocks seem pretty good by manually pushing them down. Lots of gas pressure and no oil leaking at all. I am glad that I have the upper buffer leak dealt with.
The only thing that I am not sure about is the amount of bulge in the upper buffers. I don't know if tighting down to have 3 threads visible is enough.
Anyone who is on stock shocks with an older model should cut open the access and look to see if they have a water leak problem. There was no rust damage, but it was not a good thing to see dirt and salt crystals.
