Have you tried cleaning the CD Changer lens? If the lens gets dirty, it can commonly cause problems reading CD-R discs. Regular discs will read fine, but CD-R discs need a brighter laser than regular discs to read properly (the blue, green, or other ink that you see on the bottom can cause diffraction). The lens of your CD player can get a film on it the same way your windows do (from smoking, the chemicals in plastics in your car evaporating, outside elements, etc). Cleaning it with a lens cleaner may help. I had to open mine and use a Q tip and alcohol, the film was too stuburn for the cleaner I bought. Mine has worked fine since then.
