FYI

Just returned from a trip to Vegas and Arizona with my 97 900se.

Night travel, 80-90 degrees, no AC, traffic moving well, MPG on the way there: 31 (consumed a bit less than a half tank of gas from LA to Vegas)

Day travel, 100-111 degrees, lots of stop and go traffic on freeway, with AC on and off, MPG on the way back: 29.5

The car clearly ran better in the cooler weather.

One thing I noticed with the AC w/recirc in slow moving traffic was a slight gas smell. I thought this was rather strange since the air is supposed to be recirculated. After we started moving, it went away. No smells from the car when I got home. Strange.
