That's what I thought. So if the were no flex pipes (like on my 86 8V) then the strain, over time and pooping out of the motor mounts, might wear out the connections to the cat before the cat wears out (like on my 86 8V) or worse at the manifold. What made me ask is that Eric had moved his cat to rear of flex whereas before it had one before and one after. Probably not as big a deal as I'm making it sound like. I'm more concerned now only with the price of the cat! They used to cost a heck of a lot more; I wonder if you have to get a new $50 one for every emissions test?
