It sounds as though you are driving a lot of highway miles - if so, you are not overly taxing your car. If it were me and the car was in decent shape, I would keep it and stay on top of preventative maintenance. Another factor in my decision would be if you owed anything on it. If you don't, then the money you spend on parts will most likely be less than what you spend on a 'new' car.
As for what can go wrong, I would expect normal wear and tear items. There may be the chance that something like a heater core or A/C compressor may break but who knows?
