If you do plan on getting another Saab, I would seriously consider negociating with the insurance company to buy your old one back at salvage cost. Depending on the insurance company you may be able to do this really cheap. By this I'm talking under $1K and then you would have a "donor" car allowing you to really start experimenting and always having additional parts if a mod does not work out as planned.
Years ago I ran into the same situation you were in with a modded Jetta GLI and went this route buying the car back from the insurance company after someone sideswiped me. Looking back it was the best thing I ever did and when I bought another GLI I transferred all my mods over. I kept the parts I wanted and sold what I did not want. Considering I bought the car back from the insurance company and sold the engine/tranny for 3X what I paid for the wreck. I also got to keep the nice Recaro seats in the crashed car. There are plenty of parts on your car that you could sell to others (rims, seats, engine, tranny, sheet metal - these command good $$)
No matter what route you go I hope it works out. Just be careful and play hardball with the insurance company since they are not overly cooperative in these situations.
Good luck in deciding what to do.
