Rob, I replaced mine a month ago:
Remove the interior triangular piece of door trim opposite the mirror. Mine had two plastic rivets on the leading edge where it "wraps" forward of the door frame. The central pin needs to be driven down to relieve the pressure on the rivet which can then be withdrawn. (I used a golf tee) So as not to lose the pin, I pryed the rearward edge of the trim piece back so I could reach in with needlenose pliers to capture the pins so they did not fall into the door frame. I don't know if the rivets were specific to my model as the Hayne's manual didn't mention them.
Disconnect the wires at the socket that lead to the mirror.
Remove the three bolts (or nuts - I forget which)
Withdraw the mirror and replace while making sure not to rip a foam type gasket that is in place or use the replacement gasket that may have come with your mirror. Hope this helps.
