I haven't been able to pinpoint the exact time for when Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] (#112) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SWEDECAR) on Tue, 8 Apr 2003 13:03:26 In Reply to: Re: Depending on what type head bolts you have in the car?, Trevor, Tue, 8 Apr 2003 12:26:08 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
the bolt was installed.
But going through the partnumbers again, one very interesting thing came up.
The partnumber on that bolt that I beleive is of substandard quality have been superseeded again to a new partnumber. This must have happened in the last 6 month.
All in all, the 16V 4 cyl have been going through 4 different part numbers on the cylinder head bolts.
7518335 was installed from 85 to about 96-97. Than a number came along that I haven't even seen in production, 9129909. After that the 9185307 (which I feel is the bad one)was installed around 97 and up until maybe a couple of years ago.
And now suddenly a new number have emerged 5955794.
So maybe Saab have figured it out this time. I'm going to order in a couple of the new ones to see what they look like.
And no, you can't get the oldest from Saab anymore. But maybe if you raid some junk yards.
