A few weeks ago I posted about a problem with warm air always actively blowing out of the vents, even with the ACC turned off, but I didn't find the answer. I have a little more info now and hopefully someone can point me towards the next step in troubleshooting this. The problem is very annoying and the constant warm air is making the AC work overtime.
Today I exposed and removed the cabin filter and I was able to visually observe that the cabin fan turns on by simply putting the key in the On position, even with the ACC set to Off. How can this be happening? Is there a particular relay or motor controller I should be looking at?
I'm just looking for a little push here so I can identify all of the suspects (not that I would complain if someone replied with a step-by-step). I've tried resetting the ACC (0 faults detected), pulling and reseating fuses, etc, but now I'm stuck. The AC does blow cold (though less effectively), so I don't suspect the compressor, refrigerant levels (35 psi) or anything along those lines. Any takers?
Thanks.
